Here’s to 2012!

I know I’ve dropped off the map again and I have to say I’m sorry. But, the New Year has been making me feel optimistic. I’ve started some new projects in 2011 (did you hear, I now work here? And blog there, too! Started using instagram -which also updates to Facebook and Twitter- and I’ve been exploring more) and I’m so excited for another beautiful year! I feel so lucky right now, and very grateful for the people I have in my life. I hope you’re feeling similar and enjoy a great start to 2012 tonight. Cheers to us and new adventures to come! xx

New Shoes

My sweet little angels– the ones who run up and greet me so happily every time I come home, the ones that fall asleep in my arms as I read in bed– ATE my shoes. Not just one, but four of my favorite (and incidentally, most expensive) shoes. How could they do this to me?? Since I know they must love me, I think the only conclusion to have is: they must really want me to go shopping…

Biking Wine Tour

As a California girl, I’m a little spoiled when it comes to day- vacations: Tahoe, Sonoma, Healdsburg, Stinson Beach, Muir Woods… I could keep going on and on! But until a few weeks ago, I had never known about Livermore Valley. Did you know Livermore Valley has 42 wineries?? I had no idea! On Sunday, I went on a biking tour through some of the vineyards there and had so much fun! I haven’t been on a bike since freshman year in college- so I was a little wobbly (and frankly, a little winded!), but it was so much fun to get out in the sun. It was a fun twist to wine tasting and a great excuse to get outside. And I intend on extending this Indian summer as long as it will go ;)

Fashion Muse: Valli Girls

Beautifully bold and endlessly stylish, Parisian girls know how to dress for summer. Adorned in Giambattista Valli’s striking 2012 Resort Collection, these Valli Girls are on their way to the Giambattista Valli Haute Couture Show in Paris. I love mixing of prints and colors with leopard and neutrals. Ugh! So, so good and makes so happy it’s summer!!

Valentino Fall 2011 Couture

“It’s the grace of a woman we’ve been looking for.” said Pier Paolo Piccioli last Wednesday of his and Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Valentino Fall 2011 Couture show at Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild. “That’s not a word that’s used very much today, but we think it’s more subversive now to dress like this, with a sense of regality and luxury that has nothing to do with ostentation.” Indeed, and I’m so glad they’ve found it.

Wedding Belle: Lucia

Today I’m heading off to my first bridal shower to celebrate my beautiful friend Lucia! Lucia and I met 5 or 6 years ago at SF Fashion week and kept in touch ever since. {She’s a stylist and former MAC artist with an amazing eye.}  I’m so happy for her and her wonderful fiance! They make a great team and I know they will be so happy together! I can’t wait to see her today and give her my little Agent Provocateur surprises!!

A Lovely Summer Weekend

This past weekend was filled with the best summer activites: a birthday, a bbq, a graduation and Father’s Day! I spent all of my free time in the kitchen with oldies in the background and all the windows and doors open. :) I made a couple fruit tarts, some red velvet cupcakes and a small cake for my boyfriend’s birthday. The fruit tart took a couple tries with the crust, but in the end turned out really great with this recipe I found online. It’s really good and flakey! For Father’s day, my boyfriend and I made a kobe flat iron steak with pomme frites from Thomas Keller’s Bouchon cookbook. (The Keller cookbook series was part of my birthday present to my boyfriend!) Here are some pics I managed to snap in between… ;)
